Smudged November 13, 2008 S. J. Thomas The book is great for people wanting to learn and play Beatles songs which they haven't quite been able to find before. Only problem was when i opened up the book i found a few pages smudged and couldn't replace the item.
About the small print size November 6, 2008 Dickens For those of you complaining about the miniscule print size (and absolutely right to do so - quite ridiculous!), why aren't you simply returning the book for a refund? I did this and was refunded immediately. It's NOT fit for the purpose, so get your money back, then maybe the publishers will listen to the customers a bit more closely.
the best of all October 30, 2008 David Obeso Murillo (Culiacan, Sinaloa Mexico) I had bought several partitures and tablatures but this book really rocks. It worths every moment i spend learning how to play correctly all the Beatles' songs in all the instrument i choose
Written in small letters September 17, 2008 G. S. Bruland (Norway Europe) This book is quite comprehensive, and probably covers everything possible to write down in notes and tabs regarding the music of The Beatles. You can't play through an entire song while looking in this book. As all songs are written down with vocals, two different guitars, bass, drums etc in parallel, you have to scroll through several pages to get through the song. In order compress all this information into as few pages as possible the author have used very small types. So you need to keep your head close to the book while playing if you want to get the information. This makes me think this book is written for "conductors" and teachers who want to get the whole picture in order to instruct groups and ensembles, and not for the individual musicians. Probably this book would work out well as bedside lecture for the theoretically minded musicians. The more practical oriented would probably find better sources elsewhere.
This Collection is Great September 12, 2008 Sean M. Hurley (Pittsburgh, Pa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Beatles Complete Scores really is a one of a kind collection. Sure, the highly trained eye will see simple mistakes here or there, but for those of us who aren't trained classical pianists and just like to play Beatles tunes, this book is amazing. The print is small, but not too small; complaining about the print is really being nitpicky. Plus, no other book gives you all of their recorded songs, and in the correct key. For example, this is the only book I've ever seen that finally puts Strawberry Fields in b flat instead of A major. This book is amazing, team this book with your own ear and you've hit the jackpot.
