Superb! January 11, 2002 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Trio ex Aequo delivers a stunning performance of some of Schubert's most beloved chamber music. The Piano Trio in B flat Major (Op. 99) especially is sensitive and superbly judged, and Weithaas' playing is a treat to listen to! She plays a 1770 Matteo Goffriller violin with a wonderful warm sound, and her intonation and technique are flawless. Fauth's piano is never intrusive or over-bearing, but expressive and emotional. Sanderling's cello is equally skillfully played; the trio's members evidently listen to each other to a rare degree. An intelligent, breathtaking performance!
