Our milestones.
We’ve come a long way since opening our doors in 2015. Our story began with a simple vision: to build brighter futures for all those in our reach, and to redefine the way people experience their homes. Over the years, we have adhered to this while positioning ourselves as a trusted leader in the property management industry. Here are some of the milestones that have shaped our Avenue5 story.
We launched Avenue5 Residential with a vision for a fresh, agile, and dynamic approach to third-party property management. We committed to putting an end to autopilot in our industry with a more hands-on, customized strategy for each property we manage. Avenue5 built its foundation on performance success with shared core beliefs and a collaborative, all-inclusive culture where all associates belong, have a voice and opportunities for a rewarding career.
We expanded to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The Puget Sound Business Journal recognized Avenue5 as one of the 100 fastest growing private companies in the state of Washington.
With significant portfolio growth, Avenue5 debuted on the NMHC Top 50 Managers list at number 46. Our growth allowed us to create more opportunities for current and new talent and surpass 1,000 associates nationwide. Avenue5 also earned a Great Places to Work® certification and was recognized as the fourth fastest growing private company in Washington by the Puget Sound Business Journal.
We earned the 30th spot on NMHC’s Top 50 Managers list—up 16 spots from the year prior and were recognized as the second fastest growing company in Washington by the Puget Sound Business Journal. We were proud to earn a Great Places to Work® certification for the second consecutive year and ranked one of the Best Places to Work in Multifamily.
We reached the milestone of more than 300 properties and 55,000 units and ranked 20th on the NMHC Top 50 Managers list. We earned a Great Places to Work® certification, as voted by Avenue5 associates, for the third consecutive year.
We ranked number 15 on the NMHC Top 50 Managers list. We launched our diversity, equity and inclusion collective, REACH at 5, and developed our environmental, social and governance (ESG) platform. Avenue5 earned a Great Places to Work® certification for the fourth consecutive year.
We grew to more than 75,000 units and 150 clients by the start of 2021. We ranked number 15 on the NMHC Top 50 Managers list, seven on MHN's Top Multifamily Property Management Firms list and six on their Fastest Growing Property Management Companies list. Our CEO Walt Smith was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Washington Multifamily Housing Association. Avenue5 received certification as a Great Place to Work® for a fifth consecutive year.
We celebrated reaching 100,000 units, all of which was earned organically based on our performance results. We moved up the NMHC Top 50 Managers List to number 12. Avenue5 also ranked number eight on MHN's Top Multifamily Property Management Firms list. For a sixth consecutive year, we earned a Great Place to Work® certification as voted by our associates.
We made it to the top 10 at number 10 on the NMHC Top 50 Managers list at more than 100,000 units. We moved up to number seven on MHN's Top Multifamily Property Management Firms list. We achieved a Great Places to Work® certification for the seventh consecutive year.
